  1. Joanna Moore

Had to use nipple shields once discharged from the hospital as it was the only way my baby would latch. These ones are great as there is a little cut out for their nose so the shield doesnt rub. The carry case they come in is super handy to pop in changing bag too so they dont get lost!

  2. Jessica Robertson (verified owner)

Amazing product that really saved my breastfeeding journey as a first time mum. I was at the point of giving up until I used these shields. They are a lovely thin and durable plastic and the shape means that baby still has some of the skin contact to feed and he was able to feed straight away, saving me from all the nipple pain and discomfort. I highly recommend these to anyone!

  3. Kat Sund

I have one inverted nipple and one flat nipple so I wasnt able to get my little boy to latch on at all before finding these! Great nipple shields, and the only ones I’ve found that have had the correct size for me. I’ve tried some other brands but as they didnt have any smaller sizes breastfeeding became really painful so I had to pump and bottle feed instead, which was so time consuming. After getting the medela nipple covers I’ve been able to breastfeed and nipples arent as sore! Very happy with my purchase, so my husband got me a second pair as I am relying on these for breastfeeding.

As mentioned, they dont stay on when baby is waving his arms or grabbing them, but they are easy to put back on and they do stay on by themselves unless baby interferes!

I’m currently expecting our second child and this is the first thing I’ve purchased in anticipation of her arrival. They live alongside my hospital notes because they’re that important to me! Our first child struggled to latch after she was born and I had fortunately packed some medela shields (because I thought there was a high possibility we’d struggle because of the way my breasts are shaped). She latched straight away with them and we continued to breast feed using them until she was 6 months old. I found them easy and never experienced pain using them. She gobbled up the milk with no issue gaining weight easily. They also had the advantage that she’d switch onto bottle without any struggle, which meant I got a bit of time to myself because I could pump (using a medela pump as well) and then hand her over to my husband. I can’t recommend them enough.

  5. Amy Lees (verified owner)

I purchased the nipple shields as my son was having problems latching. He manages to feed successfully with these which has saved our breastfeeding journey. The shields are a little tricky to use at first but once you get the hang of putting them on they stay on well

  6. Lisa Z (verified owner)

I really love this product. I was struggling to feed my baby and I was told at the hospital the reason for that was because I have flat nipples, so a midwife gave me a nipple shield. It’s completely saved us! I can’t feed my daughter without one! I also believe it has helped us switch between bottle and breast easily because the nipple shield is like a bottle top.

  7. Em Bishop (verified owner)

Cannot recommend enough. Without these, I would have given up on our breastfeeding journey!

  8. Anne-Marie Ward (verified owner)

I love these Shields I have used them with all four of my children. Without them I simply could not breastfeed because if the shape of my breast and nipple. I fed my third child exclusively for seven months and my latest addition is three weeks old and is gaining weight and doing really well. Thank you medela

Great product – medela has made breastfeeding my very premature baby possible. I hired the hospital grade pump while he was in intensive care and being tube fed and then transitioned him to the breast using these nipple shields. It was a long process for us because my baby was so small and needed to conserve his energy but these made it possible for him to latch and feed without getting too tired. They are easy to use and easy to clean and far better than other brands we tried. I really recommend these and the whole medela range. They really are the best at understanding and designing for successful breastfeeding in my view.

  10. Rosie Pham

This nipple shield is life saver, helps me staying with breastfeeding. Very reasonable price too

  11. Rachel lewington

Amazing! They have saved my nipples from being destroyed. The only thing is that the shield does come lose when feeding making the baby frustrated. But after a bad latch problem these work a treat.

  12. Sophie Thomas (verified owner)

These have been a useful aid for me and my newborn as he wasn’t finding it easy to latch on. One thing I hadn’t anticipated was the sizing, what works for me was not great for my baby’s mouth so I could only use these for a short time. More advice on sizing would have been helpful.

  13. N T

When my baby was born he latched straight away, then I was told by midwives in hospital to give my baby formula as they presumed he wasn’t getting anything from my breast. As soon as I gave baby the bottle, he never latched again and physically repels and screams until he’s red in the face, at the breast. I would try him at every feed and he would do the same thing everytime and initially I gave up hope. Then I was recommended nipple shields and no word of a lie, with these nipple shields my baby now latches. I’m so glad to have found a breakthrough. I am 9 days PP so hopefully we won’t have to use the nipple shields one day but these have completely saved my breastfeeding journey. I will be recommending these to everybody I know. Thank you Medela! <3

  14. Effimia Stavrea (verified owner)

My friends recommended these, however I never got to use them as I ordered small size and they were small for me. I think a size graph would help with ordering the correct size , as I have a brand new pack sealed and will never use.

  15. Samantha Zelos (verified owner)

I bought some nipple shields after being given one in hospital to enable us to breastfeed because my baby had a tongue tie. It was great that this allowed us to breastfeed when we wouldn’t otherwise be able to. We managed to wean off them after my baby had a tongue tie division. They were easy to use and clean in hot soapy water and sterilise once a day in boiling water for five minutes.

  16. Jenny Mains (verified owner)

I started to struggle with cracked sore nipples early on in breastfeeding my daughter but was keen to try and push through and find a way to carry on. These Medela nipple shields were my saviour I wouldn’t have been able to keep feeding without them. I would definitely recommend these to anyone to try that may be having any difficulties before stopping.

  17. Magdalena Dagga Van Gogh (verified owner)

What can I say… if not for these shields my baby would not be breastfed, therefore these saved us!!! They’re nice and thin, attach to the skin well and my baby doesn’t mind them. I have inverted nipples and my daughter had a tongue tie and thanks to these we are successfully breastfeeding! I started using medium and now moved on to large ones as they allow for more milk to be drawn out 🙂 couldn’t recommend enough!

  18. Shelley ryan (verified owner)

I ordered small size but there too small for my baby’s mouth so not good for us but if I ordered a bigger size I think the would have been perfect

  19. Oonagh Webster (verified owner)

Great product recommended to me by a midwife when my baby was struggling to latch on. I was about to give up trying to breastfeed when I found these. My only negative is that sometimes the downside doesn’t stay stuck so milk leaks out the bottom.

  20. Lucia Lauria (verified owner)

Easy and comfortable to use, very helpful if struggling with sore nipples.

  21. Gemma Ackerley

Great product. They come in different sizes and easy and quick to apply. My little one struggled to latch correctly and these really helped. I used them for a around four months and they are still as good as new. Easy to keep clean and the case means they are clean and ready to use while you’re out and about.

  22. Sarah Leslie

I wouldn’t still be breastfeeding without them! My baby wouldn’t latch on at all for various reasons and these sheild meant she could. We get them to stick on by getting them a little wet first. They are easy to clean and fit well, I use size small.

  23. Vicky Smales (verified owner)

By far the best product out there and you get the best price direct with fast delivery!

  24. Laura c (verified owner)

I was given these in the hospital as my baby struggled to latch; I’ve since bought a few more pairs so I can have them all around my house. I’m so thankful that I can breastfeed with them as my son still finds latching without them difficult.

  25. Kelly Whitehouse

Great product, I purchased the shield as I had blisters on my nipples which made breastfeeding extremely painful especially as the baby was feeding constantly to get my milk supply to come in. The shield allowed a much less painful feed, easy to use and great short term fix.

  26. Paul Holmes (verified owner)

Perfect, quick delivery did exactly as promised and easiest ones for baby to latch on

  27. Tanya (verified owner)

Great product, cones in handy case, easy to use and clean. I used this with my twins who after a short while were able to latch effectively.

  28. L D (verified owner)

These enabled me to get my baby to latch and breastfeed. Total game changer!

  29. Sara Thake (verified owner)

My baby struggled to latch onto my flat nipples. These have allowed us to breast feed. Only criticism is that they don’t always stay put! Difficult to review as you don’t want them to stick so hard that they are difficult to remove, but it can be frustrating if the baby knocks it off by accident / if the bottom comes loose and milk leaks out.

  30. Fran Gillen (verified owner)

Great product, speedy delivery. Definitely recommend as it makes a huge positive difference to breastfeeding. Great for helping the little one learn to latch better and for preventing nipple damage through thrashing.
