Benefits of Renting the Symphony Rental Breast Pump:
A Hospital-grade pump for every need
If you are experiencing challenges with breastfeeding and need to pump or you are separated from your baby, the Symphony rental breast pump is always the best alternative. It’s especially important for a premature baby to have breast milk.
Up to 50% more milk3
Thanks to the unique combination of two research-based programs, the Symphony hospital grade breast pump will let you pump more milk for your baby within the first two weeks3.
Initiation Technology™
To specifically activate the milk flow in the first days after birth, just like your baby would.
MAINTAIN Program
With 2-Phase Expression® technology to build upon initiation and maintain milk production.
Clinically tested and proven
60+ years of research and trusted by millions of mums, the Symphony rental breast pump is the #1 brand in hospitals4 and the most recommended pump by midwives and moms1.
The close emotional bond between mother and child during breastfeeding is something very special. If direct breastfeeding is (temporarily) not possible or you have difficulty breastfeeding, using a breast pump for support can be very helpful.
Designed for hospitals and based on decades of clinical research, Symphony is a multi-user breast pump with easily adjustable technical features and accessories to meet your individual needs. With its research-based pumping programs, safe hygienic set-up with overflow protection and unique benefits, it is also the first choice of midwives recommending a rental pump for home use1.
Ideal for regular electric double pumping. All parts that come into contact with breast milk are BPA- and phthalate-free.
2 Research-Based Programmes
Through research, Medela learned that baby’s naturally use different sucking patterns to get as much milk as possible when breastfeeding. It is this understanding that led to Symphony’s two unique pumping programs:
INITIATE program.
Mimics the newborn’s irregular stimulating rhythm during the early days of breastfeeding.
MAINTAIN program.
Mimics the two-phased sucking of a healthy baby during established lactation (after “the milk has come in”): a fast rhythm at the start of each feed, to get the milk flowing (stimulation phase), then a slower, steady rhythm once milk is flowing (expression phase).
While INITIATE is the right program for the first hours and days after delivery, MAINTAIN takes over from the moment your milk production starts.
More Milk
Using the INITIATE program in the first few days of lactation has been shown to produce significantly more milk during the first 14 days, compared to starting with standard pumping programs. According to research, you can pump up to 50% more milk within the first 14 days3 after birth when double pumping with INITIATE and MAINTAIN as indicated.
What is more, the combination of double pumping with MAINTAIN’s 2-phase expression technology offers benefits throughout your whole breastfeeding journey5:
You can pump more milk in less time now and in the long run
Your milk has a higher energy content – especially beneficial for premature babies
You can maintain your milk supply when direct breastfeeding is not possible
Feeding your Premature Baby Breast Milk
Whether a baby can be breastfed depends on many factors. If breastfeeding or exclusive breastfeeding is not possible, you can be supported in other ways to build up sufficient milk production so your baby can be fed with expressed breast milk.
